How to Compare Two CSV Files Online (Free)

Freelancers and small ops teams often need to compare a bank export with a ledger, or match two CRM CSVs. Doing this by eye in Excel is slow and error-prone. ClearBooks Reconcile runs the match in your browser.

What you need

• File A and File B as CSV or Excel (.xlsx)
• A shared key column (for example Invoice ID or Order ID)
• Optional: amount columns if you want mismatch flags

Steps

1. Open ClearBooks Reconcile and upload both files (or load the sample pair).
2. Map the key column in each file so rows can be matched.
3. Optionally pick amount columns to highlight value differences.
4. Run reconciliation and download the mismatch report CSV.

Tips

Normalize IDs first if one file uses spaces or prefixes (INV-1007 vs INV1007). Free daily quotas apply; large files can be split. Sign in if you want cloud saves across devices.
